We are a nonprofit organization that advocates for an improved mental healthcare system for people with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and dissociative identity disorder. The mentally ill are among the most forgotten, ridiculed, and despised populations in the world. Mental illness carries a significant stigma. People with severe mental illness who cannot work, such as those with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, often live below the poverty level at the bottom of the economic class in the United States, with incomes under $850 per month. Their lives are not only burdened by mental illness but also strained by utter destitution.
At Mental Health Impact, we believe in a future where people with serious mental illnesses receive the respect, care, and support they deserve. We invite you to join us in our efforts by participating in our surveys, supporting our campaigns, and staying informed through our blog.
